About

Because discoverability is one of the biggest challenges in the world of publishing today—with over 19 million books available on Amazon—outstanding books need opportunities for recognition and to reach new readers.

At North American Book Awards, we showcase great books and create a standard of excellence for readers, bookstore buyers, organizations, book clubs, and everyone who loves books. Entries may be nominated or submitted by authors, publishers, publicists, designers, illustrators, editors, and especially valued readers who wish to nominate their favorite work.

Entries are accepted year-round. If a book reaches a Gold, Silver, or Bronze standard, the author will be awarded that status and the book and author’s name will be listed for all time on our website as an Award Recipient. The author will receive a NABA seal and the right to add their status to all profiles including Amazon, Goodreads, and other distribution channels.

The North American Book Awards accepts submissions for traditionally published, partner-published, and independently published books and ebooks.

Awards are based on Gold, Silver, and Bronze standards similar to the rating systems for the well recognized Nautilus and Nonfiction Book Awards. More than one Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal may be awarded in each genre. Awards are based on excellence in the work rather than competing against other books.

Each Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and Bronze Medal finalist will receive a digital seal, a physical medal, recognition on our website, as well as continued publicity via press releases and posts on our social media channels.

Books are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Written in English.
  • Publication date between 2020 and 2024 (previous five years of the contest calendar year).
  • Published version is preferred; Advanced Reader Copies accepted if publication date is within 120 days.
  • High-quality writing and design.
  • Book message is appropriate to category selected.
  • The title has not won a previous North American Book Award in that specific category.
The entry fee per title for the first category is $125 and an additional $95 for additional categories. There is no limit to the number of categories you may enter.
